We have a terrible relationship with food. It’s not our fault. We have been told over and over again that food is not to nourish but rather to shape. We have been told that it is meant to restrict, avoid and fear rather than fuel, enjoy and cherish. When was the last time you were able to enjoy a cinnamon bun without any guilt? It sucks. But food is not a moral compass. It should not be deemed good or bad.
My goal as a dietitian is to help you move away from that thinking by shifting focus on how food makes you feel rather than look. To re-learn how to enjoy foods without guilt while appreciating the foods that best fuel you.
My nutrition philosophy is simple.
Eating foods that are good for the body and the soul.
